Job Summary:

The Human Resource Generalist II position is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with our operations team supporting the overall core values of the organization. This position carries out responsibilities across all HR functional areas but with specific attention in the following: HR business partnership, employment compliance, employee/staff development and employee and labor relations.

  • Leverages business acumen, interpersonal skills and functional knowledge to coach and advise Operations colleagues.
  • Significant HR generalist knowledge and experience, including talent acquisition, total rewards, employment law and compliance, talent and organization development and employee and labor relations.
  • Responsible for keeping Employment Authorization documentation in compliance with USCIS regulations.
  • Implementation and development of bi-monthly Human Resource topics, which are then presented to the operations team.
  • Site visits to meet and build employee relationships.
  • This position will work with benefits and risk management on medical information documentation including leave of absences and FMLA.
  • Facilitate onboarding new client accounts.
  • Act as liaison between company and union employee issues.
  • Guide employees, supervisor and Management through investigative processes of employee relations and makes recommendations when necessary.
  • Recommend innovative approaches policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department.
  • Facilitate communication among employees and management. Guide management and employees base on problem solving, dispute resolution, regulatory compliance and litigation avoidance.
  • Partner with HR colleagues to ensure timely and accurate processing of employee status changes and termination process through Winteam and data entry of all employee documents and the maintenance of employee files and monthly union annual raises entries in Winteam.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Spanish spoken/written required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or additional experience in lieu of degree
  • 5+ years progressive Human Resources experience with emphasis on recruitment, employee relations, employment law
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Direct labor relations experience required
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated skilled continuous improvement and process discipline
  • Proven analytical skills and the ability to leverage both data and intuition for problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local laws
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must have a professional demeanor, positive attitude, and a strong work ethic.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopies and filing cabinets. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
